The next regular meeting of the Rockbridge Retired Teachers Association will be held on Oct. 20 at 11 a.m. in the Community Room of the Rockbridge Innovation Center at Rockbridge County High School. A boxed lunch consisting of salad, soup, and dessert will be provided by the Culinary Department at a cost of $8 per person.

This month’s program will focus on learning about “Avoiding Financial Fraud and Identity Theft” and will be led by Mike Lenoir, newly retired RCHS business teacher.
At the August meeting of the Rockbridge Retired Teachers, guest speakers included Eric Wilson, executive director of the Rockbridge Historical Society, who spoke about opportunities for Virginia educators to become involved in the VA250 campaign as well as showed members online all the activities being conducted in our area and statewide.
Also speaking were Harper Donahoe and Deb Weddle, Rockbridge County election officials, who distributed local ballots, guided members through election locations details, and discussed how citizens can become involved in the election process.
