Pastor Casey Clar preached on Noah and his vineyard from Genesis 9.
We had a congregational meeting after Sundays worship service to elect a nominating committee to nominate three elders and a trustee. The members of the nominating committee are Gary Swink, Amy Scheuer, Sarah Burleson, Janet Drake and Calvin Clark.
There will be a chili dinner on Oct. 19 at 5 p.m. at the church pavilion. Bring chili, a side or dessert.
There will be a Thanksgiving service on Sunday, Nov. 23, in the evening. Christmas caroling will be on Dec. 17 at 2 p.m. (early release for kids).
Casey is offering a new member class for those that are interested in learning more about New Monmouth or joining the church.
Kerrs Creek Ruritan Club met at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church on Sept. 16. Zone meeting and guest included Mike Layton, lieutenant governor, Zone Governor Kim Manion and clubs in our zone. All the clubs spoke about what they have done for the community this past year from trash pickups, supporting Hospice, RARA, Boxerwood, scholarships, Habitat and many others. The District Convention will be held on Nov. 1 at the Covington Boys Home. Training for new officers will be held.
Trash pickup is on Saturday, Oct. 25. Meet at the Kerrs Creek recycling center.
The October club meeting will be held at New Monmouth at 6:30.
