There will be a men’s prayer breakfast this morning at 8 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church The church will host a clothes closet on Oct. 13 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A Ladies Circle meeting will be held on Oct. 20 at 9 a.m. Congratulations to John Branch who was recognized earlier this month for 25 years of faithful service to Faith Baptist Church. Branch was presented with a plaque commemorating his service.

At St. John’s Episcopal Church, this Sunday’s Liturgy of the Word service will be led by the Rev. Deacon Linda Ricker. Many thanks to the Rev. Dr. Jan Fuller for leading the Holy Eucharist this past Sunday.

MidMountain, in collaboration with the Rockbridge Regional Library and the Rockbridge Historical Society, will host the program “Unmasking Local History” with Sal Dockery of Old Salem Museums & Gardens from noon to 2 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the Lexington branch. Dockery will demonstrate research tools to trace local property histories, including agricultural uses, using MidMountain Retreat as an example.

The workshop is part of “Unmasking Rockbridge History,” a series supported by a Washington and Lee University community fund grant, leading up to the MidMountain Masquerade Oct. 25 featuring exhibits, live music, a potluck, crafts, and more. Go to [email protected] for more information.

Thunder BRidge artists and guests will present the annual fall studio tour on Saturday, Oct. 18, at 1455 Arnolds Valley Road, Natural Bridge Station. The free, family-friendly event features hundreds of original works in mixed media, sculpture, photography, mosaics, paintings, floor cloths, books and more, plus 10-minute plays by The Playreaders. Food will be available.
