Esther Pennington, 540-291-2629 High Bridge Presbyterian Church welcomed a message from our deacon, John McCoy, who took charge of the worship service this past Sunday while the Rev. Willis took a week of vacation. John’s sermon was entitled “Get Out of the Boat” from scripture taken from Chapter 12 in the book of Matthew. Spencer Suter also assisted in parts of the service. The children’s message was delivered by Mary Carson Worley. We also took up the “noisy can” offering and the children’s church was led by Donna Lotts. Numerous visitors attended, including three college students home for fall break — Katherine Lotts, Nicole Black, and Andrew McCoy. Also, we welcomed Donna Armentrout back as our full-time pianist. The deacons met after the worship service.
