Thunder BRidge Offers Fall Art Studio Tour

Thunder BRidge arts and culture center will open its artist studios to the public on Saturday, Oct.18, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

More than 18 artists at Thunder BRidge will welcome visitors. Guests may view and purchase works of art of many media, including oil, acrylic, watercolor, and alcohol ink painting; sculpture; ceramics; collage; encaustic; photography; printmaking; mixed media; and more.

The Playreaders will offer readings of 10-minute plays in the dining hall, at noon, 1 p.m., and 2 p.m. Visitors may enjoy lunch and more from the Globowl Café and Home Sweet Oven.

The artists include Cynthia Atkins (poet and mixed media), Tagen Baker (photographer and mixed media), Stevie Bond (floor cloths), Susan Brady (painting, mixed media, printmaking), Lenny Lyons Bruno (painting, photography, and mixed media), Adam DeHart (painting), Benjamin Frey (mixed media), Amelie Grooscors (painting), Lauralee Sorensen Hart (watercolor), Nancy Johnston (mixed media and writing), Laura McMahon (painting), Tim Mc-Mahon (painting), James Pannabecker (postage stamp collage and mixed media), Karen Pannabecker (oil painting and sculpture), Christine Sajecki (encaustic), Celeste Simon (ceramics, painting, mixed media, and more), Nina Whitehead (oil painting), Brinn Willis (photography), and several guests.

The Playreaders consist of popular local actors Rose Gordon, Linda Gorman, John Hollinger, Nancy Johston, Catilin McAvoy, Josie McElroy, Rob Mish, Paula Oxendine and Tom Oxendine.

Maps will be available onsite to guide attendees around the 100-acre property.

Thunder BRidge Campground, LLC, located at 1455 Arnolds Valley Road, the site of the former Natural Bridge Juvenile Corrections Center, offers artist studios, overnight cottage rentals through Air BnB, and tent, cabin, and RV camping through HipCamp.
