The October book sale at the Lexington branch of the Rockbridge Regional Library will be held Thursday, Oct. 2, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 3, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 4, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
“It is not too early to be thinking of Christmas, especially if you plan to give gifts you have made yourself,” a spokesperson said. “Right on time, the library has received a large donation of craft books. These include books on crochet, knitting, and food items to make for gift giving.”
The library accepts any book in reasonable condition, but none with mold or other damage.
Prices are 50 cents for children’s books, $1 for audio books, 50 cents for paperback books, and $2 for hardback books. There is a $2 bag sale all day on Saturday.
Staff and volunteers work together to make the monthly book sale a success. Volunteers, who work in shifts, are needed for the days of the book sale, especially on Saturday. Anyone interested in volunteering to help with the book sale can ask to fill out a volunteer form at the front desk of the library or request it online by emailing the librarian at the bottom of the library website at https://www.rrlib.net.
