The much needed rain Saturday did put a damper on our Vesuvius Community Day. Emory United Methodist Church did well as they were able to move everything inside the church. My neighbor and I will have our yard sale this Saturday, Oct. 4, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. I will go on Sunday to Shenandoah Heights Baptist Church, to present the proceeds of my yard sale to the church for their trip to Boone, N.C., as they leave Monday, Oct. 6. As I said before, many people are still in tents there. Please pray for this trip but also for the people of Boone, as it seems like winter is fast approaching.
