On Oct. 8, the RCHS Student Council Association (SCA) will be hosting a blood drive. Students 16 and up can choose to donate blood throughout the day, with all the blood going to the American Red Cross. Students interested in donating blood should visit room 118 to learn more or sign up. RCHS seniors who donate are eligible for a Red Cross scholarship given away at Senior Night and earn a cord at graduation.
On Friday, Sep. 25, the 10th grade Drivers Education class participated in a distracted driving class. The program was put on by the Drivers Ed teacher, Heath Glass, school resource officer Sgt. Lawhorn, and the Virginia State Police. The class taught students the dangers of distracted and impaired driving.
On Sep. 19, the senior and sophomore student councils released the homecoming theme announcement. The theme is “Wizard of Oz: There’s No Place Like Homecoming.” The student dance will be held on Oct. 18 at RCHS.
