The Rt. 252 Turnpike Wine and History Trail recently announced its launch as Virginia’s newest wine tourism destination, inviting wine enthusiasts and history buffs to explore a curated selection of wineries along the scenic Va. 252 in Augusta County, as well as several locations in Rockbridge County.
Rockbridge Vineyard and Brewery, Ecco Adesso Vineyard, Jump Mountain Winery and Lexington Valley Vineyard are the Rockbridge members.
“We’re thrilled to introduce the Rt. 252 Turnpike Wine and History Trail, a celebration of the Shenandoah Valley’s exceptional wineries and storied past,” said Mary Beth Barbagallo, owner of Above Ground Winery, and coordinator of the trail. “This trail not only showcases the artistry of our winemakers but also invites visitors to step back in time through historic sites and landmarks that define our region’s character and breathtaking landscape.”
The trail is partnering with local businesses to make this a weekend experience for visitors. Partners include accommodations and restaurants, and interesting local businesses.
