Medicare Information Session At Library

Are you new to Medicare and unsure about how to choose the right plan? Are you already enrolled but need to make changes? How can you find a trustworthy, unbiased guide?

Rockbridge Regional Library in Lexington will host Margie Ferguson, Virginia Insurance Counseling and Assistance Program (VICAP) local program coordinator and certified Medicare counselor, on Thursday, Sept. 18, at 4 p.m. for a Medicare information session.

Medicare Open Enrollment begins Oct. 15 and ends Dec. 7. Mailboxes and inboxes are flooded with pamphlets, and television and radio ads are pervasive. What is the difference in original Medicare and Medicare Advantage? How can Medicare Advantage offer so many bonus features?

Ferguson will cover basics needed to understand and compare original Medicare and Medicare Advantage plans, and will explain how to get one-on-one assistance to choose the best option based on individual needs and circumstances.

Library programs are free and open to the public. To stay in the know about upcoming library programs, events, services and resources, follow Rockbridge Regional Libraries on Facebook and Instagram or visit the library website at www.rrlilb.net.
