PFAS Topic of Meeting Tuesday

The Lexington Woman's Club will be hosting guest speaker Joseph DiNardo, MS, who will discuss the health effects of PFAS (per-and polyfluoroalkyl substances) on Tuesday, August 26, at 1 p.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church, 40 Village Way (across from the SPCA)

DiNardo holds an M.S. degree in toxicology. He was recently appointed to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality-PFAS Expert Advisory Panel representing conservation groups.

PFAS are a group of man-made chemicals used in various consumer products due to their ability to resist heat, grease and water (think Teflon). These chemicals are known for their persistence in the environment and can accumulate in humans and animals.

The public is welcome to attend.
