May 14, 2025 Editor, The News-Gazette: Seems to me there are always a lot more letters to the editor complaining about our president and I understand that because Lexington is a left leaning town as evidenced by decades of election results.
I also see in the media a lot of frustrated liberals protesting with weird outfits, banging pots and pans, using the strongest of swear words, singing, chanting, waving signs and dancing around in an effort to get on an evening TV clip. These gatherings include the usual air of hate for the president because the protesters have no constructive ideas. Their only message is that of hate for a man who is loved by the majority of Americans.
What if the liberal/progressive wings did this? Join the Republicans on some of the good things that are being done anyway, such as lower taxes, business regulation reform, border control, peace efforts in Europe and the Middle East, trying to get rid of unnecessary spending, deporting illegal migrant criminals, bringing in trillions of dollars for domestic manufacturing and jobs ... take your pick. Then they could share in the positive conservative results and claim it was done in a bipartisan manner. BOB HOPKINS Lexington
