SALLY LEE WOODS TRIPP

SALLY LEE WOODS TRIPP

SALLY LEE WOODS TRIPP

Sally Lee Woods Tripp, 58, of Fishersville passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 27, 2026. Her sudden passing left the entire family with an immensely crushing sense of loss due to the unwavering joy and love she continually expressed towards all those around her. Those thoughtful acts of kindness were not just confined to family. Coworkers, neighbors and friends all bare testament to the caring love she spread. So many will broken-heartedly miss her being a part of their daily lives.

She was born in Roanoke on May 6, 1968. She was a 1986 graduate of Lexington High School and a 1994 cum laude graduate of Mary Baldwin College with a bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences. She began her work and career as an assistant manager of Hardees in Buena Vista and the former Rockbuster Video in Lexington. Her medical career saw her working at Bath County Hospital, Augusta Health and most recently, Martha Jefferson Hospital as a microbiologist. She loved encouraging, working with, and getting to know the next generation of lab technologists. She was deeply loved by her lab family, and her caring personality will be missed.

She was completely dedicated to her family of which she was indeed the heart and soul. She lived for family celebrations and get-togethers as well as volunteering as a Disney vacation planner when needed. Her hobbies included gardening, couponing and cooking - her pie baking abilities were renowned and she was the dessert supplier for all family meals. In high school she was a member of the marching band and was a cheerleader. Surprising some, she was a senior level Swiftie through and through. She had a zest for enjoying life with the ones she loved and on the right occasion she coyly loved to share favorite memories of her many adventures in Mexico.

In death she was preceded by her parents Nevin Woods Jr. and Laura Virginia Price Woods as well as many beloved aunts and uncles.

She is survived by her husband, Mike Alan Tripp; daughters, Mars Abigail Lee Tripp & Amy Elisabeth Tripp; sisters Laura Woods Thomas (Billy) of Glasgow and Liza Woods (Dave Mende) of Kissimmee, Fla.; her nephew Dillon Thomas (Samantha) of Mechanicsville and niece Hannah Elizabeth Thomas Snow (Tyler) of Stuarts Draft; her great-nieces Charlie, Katie and Bonnie Lee who she greatly adored, as well as special cousin Melinda (co-Mexico memory maker) and numerous other cousins.

A memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Dr. Kenneth Lane Jr.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to honor Lee's memory be made to the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS), P.O. Box 92, Dundee, MI 48131.

Arrangements are by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
