Rosa Lee Patterson Trussell, 88, of Lexington died Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital.  

Born Feb. 15, 1938, she was a daughter of James Edward Patterson and Mildred Clark Patterson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Edward William Trussell; siblings Lewis Patterson, Ruby Patterson Craft, Corita Patterson Owen, Deanie Patterson Coleman and twin Richard Patterson.

Surviving are her daughters, Deborah Trussell Keen and husband Nicky and Janet L. Sweet (Lonnie Kincaid); grandson, Nathan Edward Hostetter and wife Kim; two great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Chase Hostetter; extended family, Ann and  Dale Kennedy, Skyler Kennedy, Bridgette Lim, Bonnie and Jessie Fitzgerald; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m.  Wednesday, Oct. 28, at Stonewall Jackson Cemetery by the Rev. Jim Reynolds. The family will receive friends from 5  to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27, at the funeral home.
