He met his sweetheart and got married in 1959. Jim and Mattie had 67 wonderful fulfilling years together. Jim was a dedicated and hard worker. He started off as an electrician at Reeves Brothers and then Kroger’s until he retired in the 2000s.

He is survived by his wife, Mattie Sanderson; one daughter, Donna Bowling and husband George; two granddaughters, Caitlin Dixon and Hanna Dixon and her fiancé, Hunter Strawderman; and one great-grandson, Robert Strawderman.

A graveside service was held at Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista Saturday, Oct. 3.
