Kathryn Ann Stuart Walker was born in 1930 in Alone Mill in Rockbridge County to Vada Patterson Stuart and William Kirkpatrick Stuart.

She grew up on a farm near Lexington with her mother, father, and brother, Patrick. After graduating from Lexington High School, she moved to Richmond, where she met Tom Walker. They married, had four children, and moved around the country while Tom served in the Navy, finally settling in Highland Springs.

Ann was a charter member of The Daughters of the American Revolution and The National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century. She loved to dance, travel, garden, and read.

She passed on Sept. 28, 2026. She was predeceased by her husband, father, mother, brother, sister-in-law (Barbara Stuart), and oldest son (Tom Walker). 

She is survived by her daughter Kathy (Richard) Tuck, her son Allen, her daughter-in-law Brenda, her son Dale (Terry), her sister-in-law (Martha Stuart), 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and many adoring nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, at St. Paul LutheranChurch in Mechanicsville.
