WAYNE LEE HICKMAN

Wayne Lee Hickman, 92 of Natural Bridge Station, born on Sept. 11, 1934, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026.

Wayne Lee was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He loved spending time with his family. Wayne Lee will be remembered for his kindness, humor and dedication to his community through the Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry and his church, Beth Horon United Methodist Church. Wayne Lee was a devoted member to BethHoron United Methodist Church for 92 years. He was a farmer for his whole life, retired from the U.S. Forest Service, and worked parttime for the Game & Inland Fisheries.

Wayne Lee was born the son of Fletcher and Elsie Hickman. In addition to his parents, Wayne Lee was preceded in death by his brother, John Hickman; niece, Robin Hickman Carlson; and nephew, Timothy Hickman.

He is survived by Annette Hickman, his wife of 66 years; his children, Robert Hickman, Morris Hickman and wife Lori Hickman, Carol Hickman Conner and husband James "Butch" Conner Jr.; five grandchildren, Tessa Hickman Atkins (Dustin), Willa Hickman, Brandon Conner (Nicole), Lacey Conner (Dylan) and Mitchel Lampron-Hickman (Samantha); and 10 great-grandchildren.

A man of endless compassion, Wayne Lee opened his home and heart to help raise Fred Bowyer, guiding him through youth with the same devotion as his own children and loved as a son.

The family would like to express a special thanks to all his caretakers, Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Heritage Hall and Dr. William Sawyer.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Doug Mitchell and Rev. Greg Kropft. Burial will follow at Glasgow Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in loving memory to Beth Horon United Methodist Church, Natural Bridge/Glasgow food pantry or to the Heritage Hall resident aid fund.
