Born May 18, 1939, he was a son of Floyd Lee Hill and Martha Austin Hill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Brenda Horsley Hill, and siblings Rita Hill, Oscar Hill, Leonard Hill and Wayne Hill.

Clifford worked at Natural Bridge Learning Center and retired after 27 years of service.

Surviving are his children, Wendy H. Strickland (David), and Leslie H. Tolley (Jeff); five grandchildren, Clifford Chase Tolley, Bishop Tolley, Laura Brown (Timmy), Sharon “Pepper” Strickland (Carmie), and Carie Austin Strickland Smoley (Phillip); five great-grandchildren, Tyler Mashburn, Cole Paige, Sage Smoley, Lincoln Smoley, and Hayes Smoley; siblings, Elizabeth Jane Fifer, Mary Bondurant (Bill), Delmas Hill (Shirley), and Danny Hill (Brenda); sister-in-law, Nellie Francis Hill; and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral was conducted Tuesday, Sept. 15, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Pastor Brian Sink. A private burial followed at Hill Family Cemetery.

Arrangements were by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
