She was a longtime member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and loved singing in the choir. She delighted in baking her very special rolls, cakes and pies to treat neighbors and friends with her home goods which were always filled with love even when she was in her 90s! She also loved to play cards, especially with her husband “Dolly” and it was a real win when on the rare occasion she won! Her other passion was her flowers and ferns which always made the corner of her world beautiful for all who passed that way.

Very special thanks to the following for their loving care: niece Joyce Higgins, nephew, Butch Floyd and wife Jennie, neighbors, Lisa and Tim Knudson, friends, Marjorie Austin, Mary Ann Burgdorf, Eve Gilliam and Sandra and David Knick.

A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ralph Coleman officiating. A graveside service will follow at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jill’s Buddy Camp in care of SEFAA, P.O. Box 1461, Salem, VA 24153. Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
