HENRY COLEMAN
Henry William Coleman, 94, of Buena Vista, born and raised in Montibello, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, Aug. 17, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Henry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dolly Coleman; his brothers, Halton, Harry and Bobby; and his sisters, Maxine, Louise, Mary and Shirley.
Henry was in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 when he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Even more he was a Child of God. Henry will continue to live on in the legacy he left behind. He loved his family dearly. We will miss him and cherish the memories we have. Henry would want us to live on, love and support each other, continue his legacy and know “It’s alright.”
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Janet Coffey Coleman; son, James “Jay” Coleman and wife Christi; daughter, Wanda Farley and husband Kenny; grandchildren, Aaron Coleman and wife Crystal, Brittany Camden and husband Jeffrey, Ethan Coleman and girlfriend Gabby; great-grandchildren, Aden Camden, Levi Coleman, Eli Coleman, Madison Camden and Braylon Camden; and many more special nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with his grandson, Aaron Coleman, officiating. Burial will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
The family would like to give a very special heartfelt thanks to the Connections Plus Hospice team who took wonderful care of Henry. We will be eternally grateful. We would also like to thank our family and friends for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
