Bettie Thornhill Cadden, 96, of Buena Vista died Monday, Aug. 10, 2026, at Shenandoah Health & Rehab. 

Born Nov. 1, 1929, in Albany, Ga., she was a daughter of James Frank Thornhill and Mary Emily Potts Thornhill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jack K. Cadden.

Surviving are her children, Kim Elliott Cadden and Peter John Cadden, and two grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Grace Episcopal Church by Father Tuck Bowerfind.
