Born Oct. 15, 1948, in West Virginia, he was a son of George Harold Warden Sr. and Ora Mae Allen Warden.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Randall C. Warden.

George graduated from Virginia Military Institute in 1970 and was active duty in the U.S. Army (1970-1976). He became the pastor of Bible Church at Rockbridge in 1992 and was still the acting pastor until his passing.

Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Pamela Straub Warden; brother, Benny A Warden; two brothers-in-law, Gary K. Straub and E. Wayne Straub (and their families); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral was conducted Friday, Aug. 7, at the Bible Church at Rockbridge by J.T. Cobbler. Burial was private at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Bible Church at Rockbridge, P.O. Box 47, Lexington, VA 24450.
