Ian departed this life in May while trekking in the high Andes of Peru in the shadow of Ausangate Mountain.

Born Oct. 25, 1996, Ian was the beloved son of Michelle Ludwig of Lexington and is survived by his father, Neil Treger, and sister, Sarah Treger of Colorado. He is also survived by his aunts and uncles from Florida to New Hampshire who loved and treasured him so much, as well as his German host family, his many cousins and countless friends all around the world.

Everyone who knew or met Ian would have enjoyed his sense of humor, appreciated his love of life, been fascinated by his many tales of travel and will never forget his beautiful smile and bright blue eyes.

Ian had a deep curiosity about the world, and he loved learning new cultures and history, whether it was immersing himself in the latest country he was in, seeking out a museum in a new city, or hiking on spectacular trails across the world. Ian loved discovering new cultures through their songs and traditions as much as their landscapes. Through all of it, he kept the same quick wit and easy smile that could turn any moment brighter and made him so loved by everyone who knew him.

A graduate of Washington and Lee University, Ian began his career on Wall Street before moving to Australia and traveling widely. He embraced each journey fully, finding beauty in every moment and blessing countless people with his presence. He was an avid reader, a passionate hiker, and never happier than when he was outdoors.
