She was born Feb. 21, 1936, a daughter of Antonio and Maria Iannuzzi.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Dominic Iannuzzi (June), Annette Bonner (Bob), Virginia Hess and Grace Everton (Earle).

Lucy was a graduate of Radford University where, like her sisters, she earned a degree in education. Lucy’s career spanned more than 50 years - 47 of which were spent teaching third grade and kindergarten at Enderly Heights Elementary. She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Lucy enjoyed horseback riding, loved taking trips, the theater, going to the movies and watching ACC basketball games.

Surviving are her brother in law, Joseph E. Hess; numerous nieces, nephews, greatnieces and nephews along with two great-great-nephews.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church by Father J. Morton Biber. Burial will follow at Oak Grove cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, July 27, at Harrison Funeral Home.
