JOAN BURCH

Joan Ogden Burch, 87, passed away on July 7, 2026, at her home.

Joan was the daughter of Clinton Ogden and Edna Ramsey Ogden. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 55 years, Leslie “Pig” Burch, and her sister, Phyllis Ogden Risser.

Joan was raised in Buena Vista and was a proud graduate of Parry McCluerHigh School. She retired from Aramark food services after more than 30 years.  As a person who relied on her faith for strength and guidance, Joan was a long- standing member of the First BrethrenChurch in Buena Vista.

Affectionately known as “Gigga” by her grandchildren, she loved to make quilts and blankets for family and friends, shop at yard sales and collect antiques, especially dolls.

Joan is survived by her children, Marty Burch, Pete Burch (Julia), and Lori Burch Ferranti (Tom); a sister, Andrea Ogden Moore (Stephan); grandchildren Emma and Brock, Andrew and P.J., Tino and Trevi; great-grandchildren Hudson and Jackson; along with many extended family members and friends. She will be missed so much by so many, and will be forever remembered for her love, kindness, and care she provided for her family and those around her.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 13, at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 14, at Green Hill Cemetery.
