MARGE HUBBARD

MARGE HUBBARD

Marjorie “Marge” Hubbard, 95, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2026, leaving a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family and friends.

MARGEHUBBARD

Born in Park Ridge, Illinois, Marge was the daughter of Eric and “Mitzy“ Appelbom.

Marge trained as a medical assistant and worked for physicians in New York. In 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Hubbard, beginning a loving partnership of 74 years. During Bob’s U.S. Air Force service, they lived in Arizona, where Marge continued her medical career. After returning to Long Island, she balanced work and family while raising their three children, Guy, Bradford, and Hilary.

The family later lived in Lloyd Harbor, New York, and in retirement moved to Lexington. There she was active in the Town and Country Garden Club of Lexington, the English-Speaking Union, the Lexington Golf and Country Club, and the Lexington Croquet Society.

Known for her warmth, elegance, and gift for bringing people together, Marge enjoyed travel, entertaining, gardening, bridge, and cooking. She had a natural curiosity and love of learning. She loved nature, culture, languages, and immersed her children in all that NYC had to offer. One of her greatest joys was supporting Robert as he grew his business. She found great happiness as they traveled together, both personally and professionally.

Above all, Marjorie was a devoted wife, mother, and friend. Her love, patience, generosity, and genuine care for others touched everyone who knew her. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert; her children, Guy, Bradford, and Hilary; and many dear friends whose lives were enriched by knowing her.

Though her physical presence is gone, her love remains woven into the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the memories she created. Her legacy will continue to bloom in the hearts of those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to donate in Marjorie’s memory are invited to support the Salvation Army, and you are invited to share a memory of her on their Legacy.com tribute page.

Everyone who knew and appreciated Marge is invited to a celebration of life on Saturday, June 27, from 1 to 3 p.m. at 326 Jacktown Road. NG
