Steven M. Irvine

Steven Mark Irvine, 63, passed away Friday, May 29, 2026.

Born March 2, 1963, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of Gordon Vincent Irvine and Evelyn Vernell (Chittum) Irvine Crummitt Smith.  He was raised by his father and his stepmother, Ruby Annette (LaRue) Irvine.

Steven was a 1981 graduate of Natural BridgeHigh School.  He retired from American Safety Razor, and was currently employed by Smurfit Westrock paper mill.  Steven was an avid hunter and wildlife enthusiast, and enjoyed skiing and parachute jumping.  He also had a passion for scrapping, and was recognized by many through Steven’s Salvage. 

In addition to his parents and stepmother, he was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Hall; brother-in-law Earl Evans; and half-sister Cheryl Crummitt.  Surviving are his fiancée, Tina Baker of Covington and her children, Kristina Baker and Jamie Mailliard (husband Nick); sister Pamela Leanne Evans and her daughter Tammy Buchanan; brother Jerry Irvine (wife Faye) of Lexington and their son Patrick (wife Andrea); and Steven’s former wife Michelle Carter Irvine of Stuarts Draft; and his longtime best friend, Drew Tedesco

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, June 5, 2026, in GreenHill Cemetery, Churchville, by Pastor David Brown.
