Lonie Mae Hostetter, 72, of Lexington died Monday, June 1, 2026, at her home. 

Born April 30, 1954, in Rockbridge Baths, she was a daughter of Roy Freeman Hall and Bessie Virginia Staton Hall. Lonie was the last member of her immediate family.

Lonie was a member of the Lexington BaptistChurch. She retired with 38 years of service with Kroger in the deli department and with her love for cooking, it made it a perfect combination.

Surviving are her husband of 57 years, Steve Hostetter; children Allen Hostetter (Debbie) and Lisa Husaw (Matthew); grandchildren Leighton Hostetter, Jeremiah Robinson and Shelby Rogers.

The family would also like to send a special thank you to Missy and Monica of Amedisys Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice (729 Richmond Ave., Suite B, Staunton, VA 24401)

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, June 5, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Michael Saunders.  Burial will follow at Rockbridge MemorialGardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
