She was born March 24, 1949, in Rockbridge County to Sarah Elizabeth Daniel and John Henry Daniel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Lewis and Joyce Daniel, and her beloved husband of 52 years, Norman P. Claytor Sr.

Sadie was an elder of the Glasgow Presbyterian Church, member of the Glasgow Life Saving First Aid Crew Women’s Auxiliary, Glasgow Playground Committee, and helped with Meals on Wheels in her community, and the Glasgow Community Watch. She worked at Burlington Industries for over 10 years. She was a huge animal lover and loved to decorate for the Christmas holidays.

She is survived by her two children, daughter Sarah Funkhouser (Roger) of Natural Bridge and son Norman P. Claytor Jr. (Jennifer) of Glasgow; grandchildren Adam Funkhouser, Ashley Funkhouser (Chris Stong) and Garrett Claytor; great-grandchildren Oceana, Penelope, Rip and Jax Funkhouser and Parson and Cohen Stong; several nieces and nephews and two special friends, Shirley Bane and Kim Hall.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, June 3, at Harrison Funeral Home by Chaplain Stephen Lowe. Burial will follow at the Glasgow Cemetery.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Hospice and the Emergency Department and ICU staff at Carilion Rockbridge Community Hospital.
