Virginia "Peachie" Smith Brown, 90, of Lexington, died Monday, June 1, 2026, at her home.

Born Nov. 13, 1935, she was a daughter of the late Dulley Watson Smith and Nona Edward Plogger Smith.

Also preceding her in death was her first husband, Jackie Harold Burch Sr.; sister, Juanita "Baker" Hostetter and husband, Orson.

Peachie retired from Modine Manufacturing.  She was a member of the Lexington Moose Lodge, loved to bowl, and was known for her generosity and helping others when needed.

Surviving are her husband, Carl A. Brown; stepchildren, Pamela Sue Martin (Johnny), Carl E. Brown (Jennifer), Penny Addison (Duke), and Jackie H. Burch Jr.; brother, Earl C. Smith (Pauline); and five step-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, June 8, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Dorsey Hostetter. Burial will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
