Grace Virginia (Hostetter) Flint, 101, widow of Robert Marshall Flint Sr., formerly of Elliott Street, Staunton, passed away on Monday, May 25, 2026, at King’s Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation in Staunton.
Mrs. Flint was born in Rockbridge County on Oct. 24, 1924, a daughter of the late William Edward Hostetter Sr. and Lena (Lawrence) Hostetter.
Virginia enjoyed sewing, making quilts and collecting salt and pepper shakers.
In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Flint was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tonya Lynn Michael; a grandson, Stevie Swortzel; son-in-law, John Ellinger Sr.; three brothers, Andy Hostetter, Buck Hostetter and William “Bill” Hostetter; and two sisters, Marie Hostetter and Helen Burke.
Mrs. Flint was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Surviving are four sons, Robert Flint (Linda), Ronald Flint (Peggy), Gary Flint, and Jeff Flint (Sandy); five daughters, Barbara Fishel (Roger) Sr., Carolyn Martin, Lois Ellinger, Janice “Cricket” Michael (Ivan), and Emma Landes (Randy); 30 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 1, at OaklawnMemory Gardens by Pastor Larry Strickler.
Active pallbearers will be Roger Fishel Jr., Cory Flint, Wyatt Snead, John Ellinger, Timmy Michael, and Bobby Flint.
Those desiring may pay their respect on Sunday, May 31, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Coffman Funeral Home.
Coffman Funeral Home and Crematory, 230 Frontier Drive in Staunton is in charge of her arrangements.
