Born April 1, 1940, he was a son of Carl Raymond Furr and Olieve Mae Furr.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona May Delaney Furr.

Bennie was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired lineman/foreman with BARC Electric.

Surviving is his son, Timothy Wayne Furr.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. today, Wednesday, May 27, at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Rockbridge Baths by the Rev. Gary Riley.
