LORETTA WHITTINGTON

Born Aug. 17, 1938, in Lexington, she was a daughter of North D. Pelter and Ethel Bryant Pelter.
In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John “Jack” Jacob Whittington Jr., one sister and seven brothers.
Surviving are her two daughters, Deborah Whittington Wright (Doug) and Angela Whittington Campbell (Howard); grandsons, Christopher Reynolds and Adam Reynolds (Jessica); Anne Tatum Smith (Will) and Madison Wells (Aaron); great-grandsons, Jeremiah Reynolds, Joseph Reynolds and Holden Wells.
She also leaves behind her beloved cat, Sandy; special friend, Barbara Mohler; and her “third” daughter, Marci Lawhorne.
She was a member of Grace Chapel Church.
A funeral was conducted Saturday, May 23, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Butch Grow. Burial followed at Green Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Buena Vista Rescue Squad.
