GARRY COFFEY

Garry Wayne Coffey, 81, (Sept. 23, 1944 – May 23, 2026) of Buena Vista, passed away at Shenandoah Health and Rehab on May 23, 2026.  Garry was the son of the late John H. and Dorothy Ogden Coffey. 

Surviving are his brother, Philip A. Coffey of Salem; nephews J. Gregory Coffey and wife Joan of Natural Bridge and Christopher T. Coffey and wife Meaco of Midlothian; niece Lisa Simmers Rountree and husband Jeff of Naples, Fla.; great-nephew Blake Coffey and wife Leslie; great-niece Brooke Bolen and husband Andrew; great-nephews Tyler Coffey, Casey Coffey and Jackson Rountree; and many special cousins and other relatives.

Garry graduated from ParryMcCluer High School and attended MadisonCollege.  He retired from Stop-in Food Stores in Lexington.  Garry treasured his family and enjoyed visits and interactions with one and all.

Special thanks to the staff at Shenandoah Health and Rehab for Garry’s year-long care. And many thanks for all those who visited and helped Garry along the way.

Interment will be conducted at Green Hill Cemetery by Steve Coffey on Saturday, May 30, at 11 a.m.
