Dannis Langley "Danny" Teaford, 78, of Lexington passed away Monday, May 18, 2026, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Clinic.
Born Jan. 9, 1948, in Lexington, he was a son of David Cunningham Teaford and Seatta Hartbarger Teaford.
After getting his degree from Virginia Tech, he went to work at a Lexington bank, and worked there until his retirement in February 2004. He was a NASCAR fan, having been to Bristol, Martinsville and Charlotte. He was also an avid turkey hunter, learning the lore from his grandfather, Harry Hartbarger. Additionally, he was a builder, putting up his first house on Big Hill Road. He remodeled the Teaford Inn on Va. 850 twice for his mother who lived there. During the late eighties, he built his log house on the Teaford Hills with help from kin and friends. He married Gail in 2004, and she was a much needed addition to the Teaford family.
Surviving are his loving wife, Gail Miller Teaford; his brothers, Terrall David Teaford (Norma) and SidneyMelrose Teaford; nieces, nephews and cousins.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at the Hartbarger Cemetery in Lexington by the Rev. Brian Volpe.
