Thurman Marshall Clements Jr., 80, of Vesuvius, passed away on May 11, 2026.
Born on June 28, 1945, in Lexington, Thurman was the son of the late Thurman Marshall Clements Sr. and Edith Clark Clements.
Thurman honorably served his country as a member of the United States Army. After his military service, he built a long and dedicated career with E.I. DuPont in Waynesboro, where he worked as an electrician until his retirement. Known for his skills and resourcefulness, Thurman was often described as a "Jack of All Trades," always ready to assist anyone in need.
Thurman found great joy in hunting, fishing, camping, boating, campfires ... just being outdoors. These activities allowed him to create countless treasured memories with family and friends.
Thurman’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jo Ann Boone Clements; sons Tommy Clements (Wendy) granddaughters Amber and Ashlee, Gary Clements (Chasity) grandchildren Marshall, Mason and Madilynn; daughters Cheryl Groah (Allen), Carol Fitzgerald (Buddy) grandchildren Kelly Fitzgerald (Ryan) Anthony Fitzgerald (Jessie), great-grandchildren Ryan and Elizabeth, and Sharon Scruggs (Chad) grandsons Jacob and CJ; stepdaughter Katherine Sorrells (David) Charlie. Additionally, Thurman is survived by his sisters Judy Oyler and Iris Mackey (Tom).
He was predeceased by his parents and his son Thurman Marshall Clements III.
In honor of Thurman's life, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
A celebration of his life is planned for June 27 at the home of his son Tommy at 1 p.m.
