CLARENCE CLARK JR.
Clarence McKinley Clark Jr., 93, of Lexington, died Saturday, May 9, 2026, surrounded by his loved ones at the Shenandoah House in Fishersville.
Born Sept. 10, 1932, in Rockbridge County, he was a son of the late Clarence McKinley Clark Sr. and Alva Floyd Clark.
Also preceding him in death were his son, Clarence "Lynn" Clark; siblings, Warren Clark, Hazel Tuck, Naomi Nuckols, Carrie Mason, Lewis Clark, Emogene Clark, Isabell Zitto, William Clark, Perry Clark and Roger Clark.
He retired from Robertson Fowler Construction and continued to haul water for his brother Perry Clark. Clarence was a member of the Monacan Indian Nation and Mt. View Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Surviving are his loving wife of 69 years, Lucy Carter Clark; daughter, Robin Craun (Mark) of Staunton; grandson Jeremy Clark (Tina) of Buena Vista, Joshua Clark (Roxanne) of Buena Vista, Michaela Floyd (Travis) of Staunton, and Morgan Allen (Jacob) of Churchville; 11 great-grandchildren and one on the way; three great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Virginia Ann Brock (Jerry) of Delaware, and Charles Clark (Connie) of Lexington; numerous nephews, nieces and his beloved beagle Max.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, May 22, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Bobby Presnell and the Rev. Ervin Buchanan. Burial will follow at New Monmouth Presbyterian Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 21, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jeremy and Joshua Clark, Mark Craun, Travis Floyd, Jacob Allen, Lucas Goodbar, Kevin and Cole Clark.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Shenandoah House, C/O Augusta Health Foundation, 111 North Campus Drive, Fishersville, VA 22939 or Monacan Indian Nation, 111 Highview Drive, Madison Heights, VA 24572.
