He was born April 7, 1948, in Clifton Forge, a son of Earnest Divers Cash and Bessie Morris Cash.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by son, Brian Cash; sister, Hazel Cash Graybell; and brothers, Marvin Cash and Michael Cash.

Surviving are his daughters, Melinda Hayslett, Amanda Cater and Karrie Jo Bream; son, Preston Cash; 10 grandchildren, Cane Hayslett, McKenna Hayslett, Riley Bream, Parker Bream, Bethany Yates, Katlyn Cook, Gavin Cook, Adam Cater, Ethan Cater and Tucker Cater; two great-grandchildren; and brothers, Wayne Cash and Stanley Cash; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 16, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Chris Fisher. Burial will be at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery.
