BETTY KING
BETTY KING

Born July 5, 1933, she was a daughter of Emory Madison Mc-Faddin Sr. and Evelyn McKemy McFaddin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 61 years, Percy Floyd King; her sister, Dorothy “Dot” Ramsey; her brothers Emory “Bud” McFaddin and Danny McFaddin; and son-inlaw William P. Emore.
Betty was a lifetime member of Falling Spring Presbyterian Church and a Sunday school teacher. She attended Natural Bridge High School and retired after 42 years of service at Burlington Industries. In her younger years she always liked taking her son and grandson either hunting or fishing. She loved taking care of her flowers and enjoyed time with her family.
Betty had a love for music, often listening to the Gaithers, Malpass Brothers or Dailey and Vincent. In the evenings, she loved watching her favorite TV shows - “Murder She Wrote” or any old western show. She also enjoyed when two of her greatgranddaughters came and sang old hymns. Betty kept her sense of humor until the end. She will be very much missed and remembered by all that knew her.
Surviving are her children, Kassandra Emore and Jerel King (Barbara); grandchildren, Lezley, Travis (Hope) and Megan (Adam); great-grandchildren Cody (Morgan), McKenzey, Preston (Sydney), Neeley (Christian), Mattie, Caleb and Raylyn; and a special niece and nephew. She is also survived by a special caregiver, Sue Ray, who read devotionals, sat and talked with her and took excellent care of her every day until the end.
A graveside service was conducted Friday, May 1, at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens by Cherry Ramsey.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice, 315 Myers Street, Lexington, VA 24450 Arrangements were by Harrison Funeral Home & Crematory.
