ALICE FOX

Alice Irene Jarvis Fox, 86, of Fairfield died Friday, April 17, 2026 at her home. 

Born April 24, 1939, she was a daughter of Samuel Thomas Jarvis and Pearl Elizabeth McGuffin Jarvis.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Donnie Steele Fox, and precious son, Timothy Scott Fox.

Alice attended Fairfield Presbyterian Church and lived her life with grace and love.  She loved her family and friends but most importantly her Lord with her faith being evident in everything she did. Alice enjoyed taking care of her home, working in her flower garden, cooking the best meals, putting puzzles together and caring for her cats.

Alice loved children and spent many years providing care for them. She was proud of her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She was lovingly known as Grandmom and GGmom.  "The world was a better place with Mom in it."

Surviving are her daughters, Joanne Groah (Danny), Debbie Brown, Patricia Jennings (Mike) and Stephanie Clark (Russ); grandchildren, Chase Groah (Rebecca), Aaron Groah, Jesse Groah (Rachel), Colby Sheets, Lucas Sheets (Megan), Seth Jennings (Macey) and Hayley Jennings; great-grandchildren Sawyer & Asher Groah, Lawson Sheets and Scottie Jennings; and many very special nieces, nephews and friends.

A special thanks to Becky, Phil and Kathy for lovingly providing weekly, delicious meals and visits that Mom enjoyed. The family is also grateful for the loving care given by Dr. John Marsh and Hospice of the Shenandoah Valley, especially Teresa Sorrells, Gracie Turner and Chaplin Stephen Henderson.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 22, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Danny Groah and Pastor Punker Robertson.  Burial will follow at Timber Ridge A.R. Presbyterian Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 21, at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 50 Memphis, TN 38101.
