CHUCK SEELKE

CHUCK SEELKE

CHUCK SEELKE

Charles “Chuck” Seelke passed away suddenly and tragically on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Buena Vista.  He was born on Jan. 5, 1966, in Lexington.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Emil “Tex” Seelke and Margaret Burch Seelke, and sister, Regina “Ryckie” Smith.

He is survived by the love of his life and devoted wife, Teresa Seelke; his daughter, Emily Seelke White and her husband Danny White; and his cherished granddaughters, Sloan and Charlie who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his father and mother-in-law, Freddy and Joyce Spence; brother, David Seelke and Arino DoCarmo, and his nephew, Shawn Crist and wife Kim.

Chuck lived a life rooted in love, service, and unwavering dedication to those around him.  A proud retired Virginia State Trooper, Badge # 1274, he was known among his peers as a “lawman’s lawman.”  His career was far more than a job – it was a calling.  He wore the badge with deep pride, honor, and a steadfast commitment to doing what was right, earning the respect of colleagues and the community he faithfully served in Rockbridge County.

Yet beyond his distinguished career, it was Chuck’s love for his family that defined him most.  Teresa was truly the love of his life, his partner, and his constant.  Together they built a life centered on devotion, laughter, and unwavering support.  He was a proud father, but it was in his role as a grandfather that his heart shone brightest.  His granddaughters, Sloan and Charlie, brought him immeasurable joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.  The memories he created with them will forever be held close and cherished. In addition to the love he had for his family, he had an avid love for running, hunting and fishing while soaking in his Rockbridge County surroundings.

Chuck’s sudden passing leaves an immeasurable void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.  He will be remembered for his strength, his integrity, his deep sense of duty, and most of all, the boundless love he gave so freely to his family.

A celebration of life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Buena Vista Fire Department.

Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
