Rich grew up with a steady, thoughtful nature that stayed with him throughout his life. He earned his BA from Southern Illinois University and later completed his master’s degree in counseling at Eastern Mennonite University. He built a quiet, comfortable life in Lexington with his wife, Kelsey, and their dogs.

Rich loved the simple things — watching TV and movies, playing video games, and being at home. Those closest to him knew him for his calm presence, dry humor, and the way he made people feel understood without needing many words.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents.

He is survived by his wife, Kelsey; his mother, Deb; his father, Richard; his sister, Johanna; and his stepmother, Kelly. He is also remembered by Kelsey’s parents, her brothers, and her sister-in-law, all of whom carry his memory with them.

He will be missed deeply. NG
