NINA HARRIS
Nina F. Harris, formerly of Lexington, passed away March 29, 2026. She stayed strong and defiant against cancer until she was called home.
She was born to and preceded in death by her parents. James ‘Pop’ and Shirley Harris.
Upon graduation from Lexington High School, she attended Radford Univeristy. She loved being a resident assistant and was active in the ΑΡΩ fraternity.
She always wanted to be a lawyer and earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law in 2000. She eventually moved to Knoxville, Tenn., and worked as Associate Counsel of Compliance for Tennessee Bureau of Workers Comp. She loved her work and her co-workers.
She knitted hundreds of baby blankets to donate to her local neonatal intensive care unit.
She leaves behind her pets, Atticus and Boo; brothers Jamie and Ned; nieces Ashley and Nikki; nephew Chris; great-nieces Morgen and Alyssa; great-nephew Harbour; and many cousins, church family, ΑΡΩ brothers, law school buddies, friends far and wide, and co-workers who all love her very much. In her words, “Love you more.”
A Celebration of Life service will be held April 11, at 1 p.m. at Lauderdale A.R. Presbyterian Church, 300 S Main St, Lexington, VA.
In lieu of flowers, she would like donations to be made either to Lauderdale A.R. Presbyterian Church in Lexington; Furever Friends Lodge in Buena Vista; or Young-Williams Animal Center in Knoxville, TN.
