STANLEY BYERS

Stanley Allen Byers, 73, of Verona, passed away Sunday, March 8, 2026.  

He was born Nov. 27, 1952, in Lexington to Walter Edward Byers and Amanda Davis Byers.     

Stanley dedicated 39 years of faithful service to the VirginiaSchool for the Deaf and the Blind, where he became known as a legendary employee.  His commitment, work ethic, and steady presence left a lasting impression on colleagues and students alike.

Stanley will be remembered for his dedication and steady presence and the love he had for his family.  His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched throughout his career and in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

Surviving are his devoted girlfriend of 21 years, Judy Jordan; his stepdaughters, Faline Jordan-Falls and her wife, Lisa and Corinda Clark and her boyfriend, David Dean; his cherished step-grandchildren, Mark Jordan and his fiancée, Trinity Bradley, Keandre Clark and Hanna Brown.  He is also survived by his brother, Larry Byers as well as cousins who were more like sister and brother to him, Sandra Fitzgerald and Dennis Byers, his wife, Jean, and their children and grandchildren.   

A memorial service will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, March 21, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel.  A private burial will be held at a later date. 

Family will receive friends following the memorial service at Calvary Brethren Church, 1365 Woodland Avenue, Buena Vista, VA. Please bring a dish for the fellowship meal planned.
