Lawrence “Larry” Gilbert, born May 4, 1966, has been reunited with his loving mother on March 2, 2026. 

Larry loved to walk everywhere and watch the happenings of Buena Vista.  He never met a person he wouldn’t carry a conversation with.  Larry enjoyed watching any sport he could find on TV and listening to local games on the radio.  He enjoyed visiting churches, watching a good preacher on TV, and reading his Bible daily. 

Larry was preceded in death by grandparents, Eddie and Etta Gilbert, and Emmett and Eldena Kirby; father, William “Billy” Kirby; and mother, Frances Gilbert.  His longtime furry companion, Tia, was waiting on him as well.

Surviving are his full (as Larry would joke about) sister, Laura Simmons (Jerry), sister, Cindy Campbell (Bunky), and brother, Mike Gilbert (Wanda). Larry had many nieces and nephews that he loved to see and talk to, as well as many great-nieces and nephews, great-great-nieces and nephews, along with cousins and friends. 

Family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 6, at Bolling, Grose and Lotts Funeral Home.
