CARROLL FITZGERALD

Carroll Lindberg Fitzgerald passed away March 4, 2026, at the Mayflower. He was 90 years old. 

He was born March 31, 1935, in Nelson County to James and Hazel Fitzgerald. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan, and his son, Robert; his brother, Wilson Fitzgerald; and his sisters, Madeline Groah, Mary Tomlin, Elestine Groah, Maxine Dempsey and Joyce Lemon. 

Mr. Fitzgerald was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Korea.  He retired from James Lees and Sons after working there for many years. He was loved and will be missed greatly. 

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Brenda Fitzgerald; his brothers, Cole Fitzgerald, Dennis Fitzgerald (Linda) and Richard Fitzgerald; his sisters, Elnora Snyder (Marvin), and Jean Tomlin (Lewis); and many nieces and nephews. 

His funeral service will be held on Monday, March 9, at 11 a.m. at Natural Bridge Christian Fellowship, 21 Gilmores Mill Road, Natural Bridge Station, where he regularly attended with his brother, Cole.  Visitation will begin one hour before the funeral service. The burial service will follow at Rockbridge Memorial Gardens.
