PEGGY TOMLIN
Peggy Ann Floyd Tomlin, 80, of Buena Vista went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb, 23, 2026, surrounded by her family and dedicated caregiver after a long battle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s.
Peggy was born on March 8, 1945, in Lexington to the late Fletcher Wade Floyd and Gracie Mae Clark Floyd Slough.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Floyd.
Peggy graduated from Rockbridge High School in Fairfield in 1963. Later in life, she graduated from the Elizabeth Brant School of Business. Peggy was a member of First BrethrenChurch in Buena Vista, where she was a member of the Sweet Monday’s women’s group, she served on the hospitality committee and was a member of the choir until her onset with Dementia/Alzheimer’s. Peggy worked for the local ASCS office for 20-plus years and retired from Columbia Gas of Virginia in 2000.
Peggy is survived by her husband of 61 years, Maynard F Tomlin of Buena Vista; her children, David F. Tomlin (Contempra Eggleston), Stephanie Tomlin (Scott Lawhorn), Nicole Wheeler (Chris), and Marie Snider (Junie), all of Buena Vista; her grandchildren, Morgan Dye (Jordan), Rheanna Hamilton (David) of Lexington, Shane Wheeler (Hannah) of Stuarts Draft, and Cameron Wheeler (Samantha Niday) and Hailey Claytor (Zach) of Buena Vista. Peggy is also survived by her adorable great-grandchildren, Paisley Jo and Brynlee Grace Dye of Lexington, and Aiden Wheeler of Stuarts Draft; and her sister Katie (Sis) Plogger of Glasgow, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to her dedicated caregiver, Sheila Camden, and to the staff at ConnectionsPlus Healthcare + Hospice in Lexington for their care and compassion during her final days.
A funeral will be held on Friday, Feb. 27, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. with the service beginning at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by Pastor Adam Williams. Burial will follow at Green HillCemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made in Peggy’s honor to ConnectionsPlus + Hospice, 315 Myers St., Lexington, VA or to the Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090.
Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
