RICHIE MOORE
RICHIE MOORE
Charles Richard “Richie” Moore II, 49, of Buena Vista passed away peacefully Friday morning, Feb. 13, 2026, at Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital following a courageous battle with stage IV cancer. Though his fight was difficult, he faced it with strength and the same spirit that defined his life.
Richie was welcomed into glory by his beloved wife, Jennifer Rose Barger Moore; his parents, Charles Richard Moore and Agnes Marie Lilly Moore; along with a host of grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and one sibling he never had the opportunity to meet on this side of Heaven.
Left to cherish his memory are his beautiful and kind daughters, Miley and MacKenzie Moore of Buena Vista. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Belinda Shafer (Gordon) of Troutville, Judy Hostetter (John) of Collierstown, Paula Smith (Lee) of Buena Vista, and Vickie Chittum (Mike) of Buena Vista; his in-laws, Harold and Dottie Clements of Buena Vista; brother-in-laws, Tommy Barger (Mariah) of Buena Vista and Jerry Barger of Glasgow; four nieces, three nephews, four great-nieces and one great nephew.
Richie was lively, fun-loving, and full of personality — a natural kidder who never met a stranger. He had an easy smile, a quick wit, and a heart that made room for everyone. As a lover of music and an avid San Francisco 49ers, New York Yankees & Duke fan, he embraced life fully and left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
He will be remembered, honored, and deeply loved by many — but especially by his daughters, who were the pride of his life and the joy of his heart.
As Scripture reminds us:
“But when the kindness and love of God our Savior appeared, He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy."
Though our hearts grieve, we take comfort in knowing that his battle is over, his victory is secure, and he now rests in the presence of the Lord.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Chapel with Pastor Ray Burton officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
Arrangements are being handled by Bolling, Grose, & Lotts Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
