James Edward Dedrick, 85, of Fairfield, Va. died Monday, February 2, 2026. Born August 17, 1940, a son of the late Aubrey Edward Dedrick and Elizabeth Ann Lunsford Dedrick.

Also preceding him in death are his wife, Edna Mae Ramsey Dedrick; and sister Marie Dedrick Thompson.

Jim was a retired print shop manager at The News-Gazette with 42 years of service.

Surviving are his daughters, Kay Dedrick, Kim Dedrick Moore (Russ), Karen Dedrick (Wes); grandchildren, Sierra Moore (Travis), Cheyenne Moore (Bryce); great-grandchild, Arthur Martin; siblings, Joe Dedrick (Pat), Carolyn Dedrick Johnson (Kevin); and his "right hand man" Calvin Hartless.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m.  Friday, Feb. 6, at Harrison Funeral Chapel with Dorsey Hostetter officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.  

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home.
