James Edward Dedrick, 85, of Fairfield died Monday, Feb. 2, 2026. 

Born Aug. 17, 1940, he was a son of Aubrey Edward Dedrick and Elizabeth Ann Lunsford Dedrick.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Ramsey Dedrick, and sister Marie Dedrick Thompson.

Jim was a retired print shop manager at the News Gazette with 42 years of service.

Surviving are his daughters, Kay Dedrick, Kim Dedrick Moore (Russ) and Karen Dedrick (Wes); grandchildren, Sierra Moore (Travis) and Cheyenne Moore (Bryce); great-grandchild, Arthur Martin; siblings, Joe Dedrick (Pat), Carolyn Dedrick Johnson (Kevin); and his "right hand man" Calvin Hartless.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Harrison Funeral Chapel by Dorsey Hostetter. Burial will be at Fairfield Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the funeral home.
